# Superstore Store Policy

The store policy for the NetNet Superstore, in plain English. This is the page
the store links out to, and it is the store's full disclosure. The mechanics
behind every line below, with the formulas and the parameters, are in
[Randomized-Payout Pack Desk (Superstore)](/superstore); this page is the
*what happens*, not the *how it is built*.

> THE STORE IS NOT OPEN YET. THE CONTRACTS ARE NOT DEPLOYED, NO BOX HAS BEEN
> SOLD, AND NO PRIZE HAS BEEN PAID. EVERY FIGURE ON THIS PAGE IS A DESIGN
> VALUE FROM THE STORE'S SPECIFICATION, QUOTED AT THE MARKET PRICE OF NET AT
> CURRENT PRICES. THE STORE'S ADDRESS ON THE CHAIN WILL BE PUBLISHED ON
> [OFFICIAL CHANNELS](/official-channels) AND NOWHERE ELSE. NEVER SEND FUNDS
> TO ANY ADDRESS THAT CLAIMS TO BE OURS BEFORE THEN.

## The shelf

Every box contains a random amount of NET. The odds are printed on the back of
each box. Turn a box over before you buy it.

Stock counters are real. A box only sits on the shelf when the store can cover
its top prize. When the counter reads zero, the shelf is empty until inventory
is restocked.

Each box also names a stock. You pick which one, from the list the store is
running that day.

## The odds

Odds are read from the chain and shown before every purchase. A purchased box
keeps the exact table printed when you bought it. Later changes to the shelf
never affect a box you already own.

Every payout comes from a public randomness round named before the install
starts. Nobody, including the store, can pick it. That is also why there is a
short wait between paying and opening: the round your box uses does not exist
yet when you buy the box, and it cannot be created by us.

The first box you ever buy obeys the same printed odds as every other box.
There are no seeded early wins. The only free thing in the store is the
demonstration disc, which is clearly labelled, has no stakes, and pays no
prize.

## The money

Prizes are fixed in NET. Dollar figures everywhere in this store are estimates
at current prices, never a promise. Averaged across a whole odds table, a box
pays back about 90 cents for every dollar it costs, at the market price of NET
and before exit costs. Mystery boxes elsewhere generally return somewhere
between 80 and 95 cents on the dollar, so this store sits at the better end of
that range, but buying boxes is still not a way to make money.

That 90 cents is an average across every rung on the table, and it is not a
prediction about your box. On every box in the store, the single most likely
result is the smallest prize on the table, which pays back less than you paid.
The average is carried by the big prizes, and the big prizes are rare. Selling
a win today costs about 12 percent in taxes, fees, and market impact, and the
store shows that after-exit figure beside every headline prize.

Most boxes pay back less than their price. That is what the odds table on the
back is telling you. The only number that is guaranteed is the floor, and on
every box the floor is lower than the price you paid.

## Where your money goes

Your payment does two things. A reserve remittance goes to the NetNet
Treasury, which is the amount that keeps the NET your box pays out backed. The
rest buys the stock named on your box. On the very biggest jackpot prizes the
remittance takes the whole box price, so those boxes buy no stock at all, and
the box says so.

A few cents of the price go to whoever sends the transaction that opens your
box, to cover the gas it costs them. Usually that is the store's keeper, or the
app on your own screen while you watch the wizard. Anyone can send it, including
you, so opening your box never waits on our permission.

## The choice

After a box opens you get 60 seconds to choose. Keep the install and the NET is
yours, delivered through My Programs. Uninstall and you take a discounted share
of your win in the box's stock instead: 85 percent of the win at or below 1
times the price, 80 percent up to 2 times, 70 percent above that. If you do
nothing, the install is kept for you.

The printed guarantee on an uninstall is each box's own stock escrow. The store
buffer behind larger uninstalls is not a guarantee. The store shows what the
buffer can currently cover, both on the box and in the choice dialog, and that
figure moves as other people win. On the largest prizes the whole box price
becomes reserves, so an uninstall on those settles from the buffer only. The
box and the choice dialog say so before you commit anything.

If you uninstall, the stock is yours, in your own wallet. One tap sells it back
to USDG if you would rather shop again.

## Downloads

How fast a kept win arrives depends on the size of the win locked when you
bought the box. Wins under $100 are paid to your wallet immediately, with no
vest. Wins of $100 or more but under $1,000 vest over 1 day. Wins of $1,000
and up vest over 2 days. You can run the finished part of a vesting download at
any time, and a finished download never expires.

## The stock

Stock bought through this store is held in the NetNet RWA Sleeve. **Sleeve
holdings do not back NET.** The Sleeve is held by the Manager, in the Manager's
own custody, for the protocol's benefit, and its holdings are published on the
chain for anyone to look at. In bad conditions the Manager may choose to use it
to support NET, but that is a choice, not a promise, and no contract compels
it.

## Refunds

If your box never opens, you get your money back. Two hours after you buy it,
you can refund an unopened box for the full price in USDG.

**Only you can do that.** Nobody else can cancel your box, at any delay, ever,
and that is deliberate rather than an oversight. The randomness is public, so
anyone else allowed to cancel boxes could read a jackpot off the chain first and
cancel yours before it paid. The only refund anyone can ever trigger is their
own.

A box also cannot be refunded once its randomness round is on the chain,
because at that point it can be opened instead, and a win we can see is a win
you get.

If the stock purchase behind your box fails, your prize still stands. After a
day you can choose to settle it in USDG instead. That choice is yours and it
never happens automatically.

## Age

You must be 18 or older to shop here.

## Gas

Network fees on this chain are paid in ETH. If you signed up with an email
address or a passkey, the store pays them for you, within limits, so an account
holding only USDG can shop, open boxes, and claim. If you connected your own
wallet, you pay your own network fees in the usual way.

## What we cannot do

We cannot pick your prize, bias it, or cancel it. Cancelling an unopened box is
something only you can do, and once the randomness round is public your box can
only be opened, never undone. We cannot change the odds on a box you already
own. We cannot take the
buffer out from under a win that has already been revealed. We cannot reach
your wallet. And we cannot sell the store's prize NET on the open market: the
only ways it leaves the store are as your prize, back onto the shelf, or as
your refund.

The one thing we depend on that we do not control is the chain itself. The
short wait before a box opens assumes the chain reports honest timestamps. That
assumption is written out in full, with everything else, on the
[full disclosure page](/superstore#fairness-stated-per-actor).
